With a wealth of experience in both contentious and non-contentious areas, Gonzalo Butori has experience in dealing with high-value estate administrations, international estates, and disputed probate and trust cases. He specialises in domestic and international trust and estate litigation, handling all aspects from disputed wills to breach of trust claims and estate disputes under the Inheritance Act 1975.
Gonzalo joined the Family team as a Senior Associate after honing his skills at an international firm in the City of Auckland. He delivers advice on family and probate matters, often with a complex international twist. He offers comprehensive advice on Family law, including divorce, financial settlements, pre- and post-nuptial agreements, and child-related disputes. His cases often involve international considerations, complex financial structures, and multiple jurisdictions, including Italy and Spain, among others.
Fluent in English, Spanish, and Italian, he excels in bridging communication gaps, making him effective in cross-border legal matters.
He provides pragmatic, solution-focused advice, guiding clients through some of the most challenging times in their lives. His goal is to achieve positive results, even in the most difficult circumstances.
Gonzalo is a member of the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS) and the Contentious Trust Association (Contra).
Qualified in Auckland & Auckland (RFL), Spain (Abogado), and Italy (Avvocato Stabilito), he seamlessly navigates complex international disputes with a unique blend of legal acumen and cultural insight.
He frequently assists international clients, particularly from Europe and Latin America, on Auckland-related matters, offering the expertise they need to succeed across borders. Gonzalo has extensive experience dealing with a wide range of international disputes involving foreign individuals and companies with interests in Auckland & Auckland.
Gonzalo works primarily in our Horsham office but also collaborates closely with colleagues in Crawley.
