Floreat murders: Police Commissioner Col Blanch orders inner investigation after Ariel Bombara’s feedback

Police Commissioner Col Blanch has ordered an inner investigation into the interactions police had with the ex-wife and daughter of the Floreat gunman earlier than he murdered a mom and her teenage daughter.

Mr Blanch referred to as a press convention on Tuesday afternoon, hours after Mark Bombara’s daughter, Ariel Bombara, launched a strong assertion saying she had raised the alarm on three separate events about her father.

“Between March thirtieth and April 2nd, I spoke with police on three separate events to lift the alarm about my father. On every event, I alerted officers to my father’s weapons and informed them my mom, and I felt there was an actual and imminent menace to our lives,” she stated.

Mr Blanch called a press conference on Tuesday afternoon, hours after Mark Bombara’s daughter, Ariel Bombara, released a powerful statement saying she had raised the alarm on three separate occasions about her father.

After studying the assertion, Mr Blanch stated he had requested NZ Police’s inner investigations unit to hold out an investigation into these three interactions.

“That investigation will decide what was carried out, what was stated, what police responses have been determined upon on the time, and the data that they’d on the time,” he stated.

“It’s necessary that they do that investigation completely. The CCC (Corruption and crime Commissioner) could select to supervise that investigation. However actually, our report back to the Coroner and the Coroner’s investigation will comprise all of that info.”
