Too many times in our practice do injured clients refuse an ambulance from the scene of the collision thinking that it will be too expensive or that the inconveniences far outweigh the benefits. In reality, nothing can be further from the truth. If you are injured after a car accident or think that you may be injured, an ambulance ride to the nearest emergency department can, not only provide the help that you need but also ensure your potential personal injury claim starts off on well documented and solid footing.

Many people think that after the collision, regardless of how injured they are, they will drive themselves to the emergency department afterward or seek the care of their primary care physician later. driving yourself, at worst, can prove to be dangerous and at best will only increase the time between you receiving care. Even worse, scheduling with your primary care physician can take weeks to happen, and many times, you will have to be referred back to the hospital for radiology. Not only does taking the ambulance ensure you are being treated as quickly as possible, it also ensures you are not wasting any time in receiving that treatment.

If you were injured in a motor vehicle accident, you should always request that the police officer arriving on scene call an ambulance and take it to the nearest hospital. Whatever doubts or worries you have about it pale in comparison to the effect that it can have on your health and potential personal injury case. Furthermore, to increase your recovery and protect your financial health, you should always provide your health insurance information to the ambulance and hospital personal.
